Kroger has just made lowering your cholesterol much easier. Yes, Kroger! This breakthrough product will be carried in all their stores including Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, King Soopers, Smith’s and Smith’s Marketplace, Fry’s and Fry’s Marketplace, Dillons, QFC and City Market.
It’s a new non-fat milk and it accomplishes this feat with the addition of an all-natural ingredient called CoroWise ™.
…CoroWise(TM) plant sterols, an all-natural ingredient sourced from plants and found naturally in foods such as vegetables, seeds and nuts. Plant sterols are recognized by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for cholesterol lowering attributes. Clinical studies show they can help reduce “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
I used to drink milk, usually a glass with dinner. But I quit because I figured it was one thing I could give up to help keep my cholesterol in check. I didn’t go completely nuts and give up ice cream and I still eat cereal with milk.
This doesn’t mean I’ll go back to drinking milk. But for those who have a cholesterol problem, this could be a great help.
With more than 100 million people in the U.S. with high or borderline-high cholesterol, Kroger’s Active Lifestyle Fat Free Milk is the right product at the right time. Elevated blood cholesterol is one of the major risk factors for heart disease.
Two 8-ounce servings of this milk, when consumed with meals, provide the minimum daily amount recognized by the FDA as providing a heart-healthy benefit, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that plant sterols can reduce cholesterol levels up to 15 percent. “For people with borderline-high blood cholesterol levels, this can potentially help them get to the normal range and potentially avoid medication,” said Ms. Severin. “For others, it is one way to help shave off points for better heart health – and we know every point counts.”
Kroger says the price will about the same as regular milk. The company that gets credit for developing CoroWise is Cargill.
Ed Traisman could have done this, but he stuck with junk food.

M & M’s had a contest where a couple could only communicate by using specially printed M & M’s.
“This challenge provides an opportunity for consumers to connect with
MY M&M’S(R) on an even more personal level, following this couple as theyexperience one month of sharing their thoughts and feelings only on MY
M&M’S,” said Jim Cass, MY M&M’S(R) vice president and general manager.
“We’ve printed such emotional phrases as ‘I love you’ and ‘U make me
smile,’ and also phrases specific to the couple, such as ‘Caring, kind’ and
‘I am the luckiest,’ giving them a variety of words, phrases, symbols and
even colors to choose from during their month of silence.”
Of course, the winning couple are young, they are engaged, but it doesn’t say if they live together. He proposed by having custom imprinted Marry Me, April 29, and Jen and Ryan on the candy coated chocolate.
Even if they don’t live together the important phrases on M & M’s would be things like, “you’re snoring” “hand me the remote” “we’re out of beer” “do I look fat in this?” “is she hotter than I am?”
