Vince Gill Sings About My Underwear

images1.jpeg

In “Daddy Was the Apple of My Eye,” Vince sings, “No castle in the South of France/but what we had were underpants/That made us feel like royalty.” Duet partner and mono-monikered Apple then sings, “his hands were hard/his waist band soft.” The video also features several other grown men dressed in fruit costumes playing instruments.

I’m in my Fruit-of-the-Looms today reminiscing about my favorite verse, learned long ago in a place far, far away.

Here I sit broken-hearted,
Tried to shit and only farted.

If I didn’t have another assignment, I would probably pen an “Ode to Going Commando.”

UPDATE: I thought this must have been news to be in the “news”paper. Guess not.

Here is a site that has all the poop, including lyrics and link to video.

Aren’t you supposed to be saluting the flag? It doesn’t appear so in the picture.

By the way, I have seen the video numerous times in the past week. It’s a hoot!

I think the Fruit of the Loom commercials are hilarious, but I haven’t seen this one yet. I’ll be watching, though. I’m not a fan of Vince Gill, just for the record. I saw him in concert once and he seemed so utterly bored and put out at having to perform for us, that I regretted my $35 almost immediately. But it still won’t quell my love for the Fruit of the Loom guys.
