It’s the first day of school. I had to read the paper to know it. No wonder that bus driver gave me a dirty look when I blew by her. I thought that thump I heard was a speed bump.

First day of school?!?
You know, those big buildings where all the rug rats gather. The reason you buy lottery tix, to support education.
And I thought we started early on the 15th!! Geez…Before too long the kids’ll get a week break in May and the new year will start.
The school here is supposedly on a year around basis. Lots of two week breaks.
