Up to date? OK, if that's what you prefer to call it. This may be the first time someone has learned anything from my blog.

[...] Update! I received a pingback from Going Like Sixty’s blog, informing me that that’s the sign for pounds. I thought as much — but wasn’t sure if they were using Euros and still kept the pound sign on Ebay, etc. Anyhoo. I got called ignorant for it. Which is interesting. Ignorant American, no less:) George Bush would be pround. Anyhoo. To read Going Like Sixty’s virtual smackdown of my somewhat sarcastic statement regarding pounds and euros, go here.
Thanks for the clarification! Although I wouldn't consider myself ignorant, just not up to date in actual classification of money in other countries. The last time I bought something from England was a while ago, and I wasn't sure they hadn't changed to Euros. Anyhoo, thanks again for clearing that up. I'll make sure to use the correct vernacular from now on!

£ = Pound Sterling [what those Brits insist on hanging on to for some 'patriotic' reason].
€ = Euro, that most of the rest of us use.
£250 roughly equals €375 roughly equals $500.
Is it worth it?
