This book has been out a while, and I didn’t pay much attention to it, but I found myself on the publisher’s website because they used “boomer” in a post and Google let me know about it.
What do you think of Charla Krupp’s How Not To Look Old? Even if you haven’t read it. I don’t care, give me your off the cuff reaction.
Packed with eye-opening details on hair color, brows, lipstick, wrinkle-erasers, jeans, shapewear, jewelry, heels, and more, the book speaks to every woman: from low maintenance types who don’t want to spend a fortune or tons of time on her looks to high maintenance women who believe in looking fabulous at any price.
I can’t relate.
But doesn’t it piss you women off a little? (a lot?)

Why? Because:
- There are 3 billion women who don’t look like super models and only eight who do.
- The models in the magazines are airbrushed - not perfect.
- A psychological study in 1995 found that three minutes spent looking at a fashion magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed, guilty, and shameful.
yes. It pisses me off.
@Keri: Thanks. No TV… pretty cool. I think we could do that. I would still want a “tv player” in our house to watch DVD’s. But other than that, I’m sitting in front of the TV with my laptop, and Nancy is doing a puzzle or knitting or embroidery.
Won’t all these young women with these huge tattoos look graceful in the nursing home! LOL
Okay, that’s enough out of me. I need some coffee…
So THERE.
@ Incurable Insomniac: What no “have a nice day?”
@ Gretchen: Attagirl
Are you trying to start something goinglikesixty? Shame on you (as both my mother AND my father STILL like to say… - I have a complex from this behavior of theirs…)
