This is One Fugly Blog Design.

As Gretchen so aptly summarized Paris’s feet… the same applies to this blog when viewed in Internet Explorer. I have viewed the site using Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Flock. And it displays just fine.

So I need a whole ‘nother CSS file just for IE? ARGH. Guess whut? That won’t happen until the next rainy weekend. Or until Kirk stops taking his looney pills, and can do it.

So IE readers: if you don’t change to another browser, you deserve the crap browser Bill Gates put on your computer without asking.

So there.
This is what I see:

Oh crap! I had no idea. I wouldn’t touch Internet Explorer with a ten-foot pole, even if it was Rupert Grint’s ten-foot pole. I use Safari at home and Firefox at the office.

Boy, between that last comment and my blog link, I sure sound dick-obsessed. Well, if the shoe fits.

@Gretchen: I had to look up who Rupert Grint was… only knew his character. Yikes! And yes, you do seem to be penis obsessed lately.

IE is a total pain in the arse. I downloaded the new version about 2 months ago and just about every page that I try to go to gets BLOCKED!

I’m using Mozilla FireFox mostly now.

@trailerparkbarbie: I was a FF evangelist until it started to hog memory and crash unless I uninstalled and reinstalled a “fresh” version. I’m going to switch to Safari and will write a post in a few weeks about the change.

I use IE. I just assumed you were insane.

@Mr. Fabulous: No, Bill Gates is a Prick.

You had a great post today… readers: if you haven’t read him before, today would be a good day to have a sample.

I have to love this comment thread, loaded with both penis and cooter. Besides, GLS, YOU’RE the one who first mentioned prick. :)

    Sixty,

You’re in luck. Firefox 3 fixes the memory problem. Yes…it does…I can attest to it despite the loony pills. I’ve been testing the nightly builds for the past 3 months now and the leaks are fixed (that doesn’t count for poorly written plugins of course).

Also, I believe I’ve said this before somewhere or another, your site here renders properly, including the colors, when viewed in Internet Explorer 8.0 beta 1 in it’s default configuration (adheres to web standards it does) so don’t waste your time doing up separate CSS code just for folks still using IE 6.0/7.0. Those browsers will never go away if site authors keep catering to them.

Just stick up a sign that says “Best viewed using a real browser and that don’t mean IE 6.0 and/or 7.0! Just deal with it.” or something to that effect. Make it up, you’re good at that. :P

@Kirk: I may incorporate that into my blog header. Your language sounds pretty appropriate. I just hate it that a large percentage of readers are seeing crap. (other than what I write.)

Hmmm… I’m looking at this in IE6 as I type and it looks fine ‘cept for the colors are quite different from FF, which is where I live. First time I’ve been in IE6 in months, and wouldn’t touch IE7 with Gretchen’s ten foot pole. Just yesterday I downloaded the Windows version of Safari3 and going to give it a whirl. As time allows, of course, which it don’t, much of the time…

    Sixty,

Feel free to use all the language you want. You can even quote me if you wish. And hey, if your crap is popular…it ain’t crap so to speak. You know who you are. :D

@Winston: Colors - main problem! Nancy uses IE 7 regularly. I have both Safari’s and with Mac, just so much more stable than FF. But I should do a clean install of FF just to compare, I guess. Nah, who cares!

@Kirk: I just had a great idea: I will use your language in the right column about the design.

Did you get the problem fixed?
