PR Geniuses at Work: Let’s Put Diamonds All Over The Product; the Bloggers will Love it.

Bling is so passe. Even the word “bling” is goofy anymore. Please Wordworkers of the World (OMG - WoW is so overused too) please find another word to describe over the top ostentatiousness.
Here are a few things that have had diamonds an other precious gems added for improved performance:

  • iPods
  • iPhones
  • skulls
  • skull.jpg

  • Pepsi can
  • Mickey Mouse Ears hat
  • Playstation Controller
  • It’s pop culture stuff with diamonds. I haven’t seen a diamond crusted Miller Chill bottle, nor a diamond bedecked pooper scooper.
As soon as my Google ™ deal comes through I will be launching a line of painted diamonds.
    The anti-bling. The blong.

Could not agree more - working in PR I am SO SO SO SO bored of others making the World’s most expensive / largest. It’s just lazy but does get coverage. Bling is so BORING.

@Emmylou: I keep forgetting you’re in PR. I’m glad you agree. Now I can tout that fact. 100% of my Public Relations readers agree. Sodding chocolate? Let’s not get carried away.
