There Are Cheaters in Blogonia

Signing up for Blog365 was a pretty easy decision once I realized I average two posts per day the first year of blogging.
I signed up for the megafeed to read what other daily bloggers were saying. The numbers are dwindling, but that’s OK. Life happens.
What’s not OK is that some of the Blog365 bloggers are cheating. Here are the two most egregious spirit-of-the-game violators.

One posts a different bird picture everyday. They are gorgeous pictures and I always admire them as the feed flies by. But c’mon.
Here’s the one that really irks me: a person posts pictures of the mosiac tile art in some subway. Not just one big picture. The person takes multiple shots of the same mosiac and focuses in on one section. So one snapshot can provide 20 picture posts. What irks me the most? It was written up by some hot-shot magazine/newspaper/blog.

I would do a weather observation blog. I recently read a biography of Thomas Jefferson and he kept a “Garden Book” diary in which he daily noted the weather, what was blooming, what was planted, what was harvested. I thought that was kind of cool.

I don’t think anyone would sit through 365 days of “Sunny, 72 degrees, breezy at the coast” though. Effing So Cal.

It’s been awhile since I stopped by so I was just cruising to see what you were up to. I see you’ve changed the look of your blog or maybe my eyesight is just going from bad to worse.

@Beverly: Oh, it has changed - lots of times! And still is, depending on which browser you use.

Oh crap, GLS, that is brilliant. I just may have to start a sub-blog like that, with a readership of approximately 1.8, including me. Perhaps geeks would read it? There is a blogger on the Orange County Register called the Science Guy who is like my spiritual cousin. Every day it’s this earthquake or that weather condition or some bird or bug or eclipse. I read him. I don’t think much of anyone else does.

Concerning browsers: anyone who doesn’t use Firefox and/or Safari is so three years ago, although I admit many websites hate Safari and either won’t work with it at all or turn all wonky when viewed with it.

Oh that is SOOOO cheating! I’m on the 365 bandwagon myself and admit to posting a picture as a post at least once or twice… but every day? PooPooHeads!

@Gretchen: actually you should twitter. That’s how the news got out of China. do you twitter? It would only take one good shake or bake and you would be THE go to source.
Yes and Yes on FF or Safari, but the world still loves IE.

@Krissi: yeah I do a photo post (like two this week) but at least I add some words.

Yah, I’ve seen the Twitter thing, but it doesn’t appeal to me. I never got into Flickr or Friendster either, and there was a specific reason I joined MySpace, although I’ll be damned if I can remember now what it was.

I did go ahead and start the weather observations blog. Link at the top of my blogroll. It promises to be extremely boring.

@Jozet at Halushki: yup, same difference! Then again, why do I care? Not like it’s a competition. As a matter of fact, why don’t I just lighten up and worry about myself? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

@Gretchen: Have you tried twitter? A lot of power bloggers are raving about it. Flickr is just a photo sharing place, I use it to get Dogs With Cones pix.
