RIAA May Challenge Russert Family Memorial Music; Ultimate Product Placement for Apple

Tim Russert will be memorialized today at 4:00 p.m. The Associated Press will live stream the video if you are want to watch on your phone. (Note to AP: I took this quote from a private email so please don’t charge me your customary quotage tariff.)

The Online Video Network will stream live coverage of the memorial service for NBC “Meet the Press” host Tim Russert.  It will take place at 4PM ET Today at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC

Who will pay the licensing fees for the music at the memorial service, since Tim’s iPod will be playing. Does the Kennedy Center really have an iPod dock that hooks up to their sound system?

details of Russert’s memorial program at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday:
Entrance Music from Tim’s iPod, Honor Guard, The National Anthem.

(emphasis mine)

The Russert Fund for Excellence in Dying is missing an opportunity to ding Apple for a nice product placement fee.
I won’t watch, I will just depend on the bloggers to keep me up to speed on how things go at The Death of NBC Analysis.

Uh, no AP, he’s still dead.

UPDATE: The Onion is weighing in. Pretty tame, but still funny.

RIAA May Challenge Russert Family Memorial Music; Ultimate Product Placement for Apple — 3 Comments

  1. At this point, I am not praying for Tim Russert’s soul or his family, but that the death coverage will finally stop when the memorial is over. Shit, I’ve seen ex-presidents die with far less fanfare than this.

Gretchen’s last blog post..Told You So.

  2. @Gretchen: me too!
@Polly: I forgot about my vast international following. 🙂 BTW: do the flesh, or whelmish, (people from Belguim) speak the same French as the ones in France? If we go to Brussels, will we be able to get along about the same as Paris?
Thank you for your comment on perspective. I’ve lost it. I have no more perspective. I’m just a crotchety coot. Suitably Old and Really Cranky should be my new tagline.
