Making the Comittment to Go Green As Long As I Can

With the help of my two good friends: the CVS manager and MyGoodCents I am going green.

Lady Green M & M Candy

First, MyGoodCents is a CVS shopping expert. She gets armloads of stuff for just nickels. I really enjoy her “found money” posts.

I went into CVS and picked up a large bag of M&M’s and took them to the counter to pay. The manager was working and he said he had a better deal for me.  I knew I could count on him, because on another day, when I was after drugs with no M&M’s on my mind, he told me they were on sale.

Today, he said if I bought the green only M&M’s, $3.49, I  would get $3 in CVS bucks.

Done, and done.

Not only did I get the $3 from M&M’s I got another $1.50 in CVS bucks.

Going green is working out very well for me.

Budweiser Presents: Santa! The King of Deers

In our town, we have two “community” Christmas light displays. One is a really lame one in a park in the center of downtown. It’s the best the city can do on a limited budget.

The other is a display at a nearby family owned amusement park. I haven’t seen it, but from what I’ve read, it sounds pretty cool. Plus the rides are open. What says Christmas more than screaming your head off in the dark of night on a roller coaster.

What? I’ll tell you what. The community selling the naming rights to their Christmas Parade.

•In Virginia Beach, McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach Presented by Verizon Wireless features about 250 animated light displays, including a surfing Santa. The companies, along with other sponsors, finance the attraction.

•In Sioux Falls, S.D, the annual Sioux Falls Parade of Lights this year became the Avera Parade of Lights. The sponsorship by the local health care system enabled organizers to add a 60-foot Christmas tree.

•In Oklahoma City, the Sonic Segway Santa is a big part of the Downtown in December festival. Santa rides a Segway through downtown to promote green transportation and Sonic drive-in food.

  • Be sure to be there when the Budweiser’s World Famous Beer Wagon arrives pulled by giant horses that leave giant presents for the street cleaners.

  • Hollie, Berri, Sparkle and Twinkle will be dancing around the Yule Pole to the sounds of Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.

  • Santa will arrive driving NASCAR’S #1225 at speeds up to 150 mph. Wave quickly kids!

  • Free DVD’s of the famous Budweiser Clydesdale’s Christmas commercial will be given away so you can plug them in your DVD player Christmas morning. While the kiddles are opening gifts, Mom and Dad can crack open another Bud.

Don’t forget the true Spirits of Christmas… brought to you by Budweiser, the King of Beers.

Holy Shit! Look it This! Meme

Thanks  Grandad for this meme: use every tag in a post.

Lucky for me, my categories/tags are very general and included “writing.”

Here goes:

Baby Boomer education in Ireland and Kentucky can be real entertainment for the whole family. The Friday Five, who are blogging and sometimes do real writing about travel, technology, shopping, research, advertising, childhood, and cars grabbed our M & M’s and money to buy more food and headed to the birthdays we saw advertising for. Our health is pretty random, so cross your fingers.

I’m finding it harder and harder to get participation to memes. For this one my choice was limited because a lot of the bloggers in my blogroll don’t use tags/categories!  (I’m assuming they are the same!)

Let’s try, Kay  Janna Laurie.

Rhea, I almost tagged ya, but didn’t have the heart. Want to give it a go?

Outback and Posh! Hook Up for Perfect Boomer Marketing Promo

Remove a bunion get a free Blooming Onion.

Best Half had the other bunion removed earlier today. She is now happy medicated and in dream land, leaving me pretty much free to do whatever I please around the house. As long as I stay close enough to keep her in Vodka and Darvocet, we are both good.

Victoria Beckham still hasn’t had her bunion surgery. I will update this often for you. It will be hard looking at her feet, but I will do my best because I feel it is my duty.
