The Perfect Boomer Gift: Buy Some Ownership of Harley, or Tiffany, or Krispy Kreme.

Have you heard of oneshare.com? You buy one share of a stock and have it framed as a gift.
I don’t get anything for mentioning this, I was just reminded because I moved the one share of Apple I bought myself a couple years ago. It’s a pretty cool gift if you’re looking.

If you have some kids or grandkids that love Disney, you can give them one share and tell them they are part owners.

You choose the frame, (or not) and can add an engraved plaque (or not.)

If you know a Harley owner who has everything Harley, one share of the company is a neat gift too.

Here are their top ten sellers:

  1   Disney
  2   DreamWorks
  3   Harley-Davidson
  4   Wal-Mart
  5   General Motors
  6   Tiffany & Co.
  7   Microsoft
  8   Coca-Cola
  9   McDonald’s
  10   Starbucks

Surprisingly, most of the certificates are pretty boring. I guess marketing doesn’t see this as a great place to do branding.

Dreamworks is pretty cool. Shrek is peeking up from the bottom like Kilroy.

Here’s the silver lining in the dark cloud looming over stocks: some of the high-fliers are again affordable. Apple isn’t one.
When I bought the stock it was selling for about $30 a share. It closed today at $161. One share. Rats.
I had the plaque engraved:

Mark, Thanks for your inspiration.

Who would have thought GUI

would be so popular. Couldn’t

have done it without you. Steve.

It’s something not very many people have hanging on their wall. Too bad I didn’t buy the wallpaper.

Holy Shit! Look it This! Meme

Thanks  Grandad for this meme: use every tag in a post.

Lucky for me, my categories/tags are very general and included “writing.”

Here goes:

Baby Boomer education in Ireland and Kentucky can be real entertainment for the whole family. The Friday Five, who are blogging and sometimes do real writing about travel, technology, shopping, research, advertising, childhood, and cars grabbed our M & M’s and money to buy more food and headed to the birthdays we saw advertising for. Our health is pretty random, so cross your fingers.

I’m finding it harder and harder to get participation to memes. For this one my choice was limited because a lot of the bloggers in my blogroll don’t use tags/categories!  (I’m assuming they are the same!)

Let’s try, Kay  Janna Laurie.

Rhea, I almost tagged ya, but didn’t have the heart. Want to give it a go?

Why is Everyone So Excited About Boinking?

All the 24 hour news channels are talking about the face of the Boinking?

So what’s the deal?

Oh Boy King.

Sorry. I guess I need new batteries in my hearing aids.
