A couple days ago I explained how a bunch of goofball writers bought a bunch of stuff at thrift stores and put it on eBay writing lies about the backstory of each item.

Genius was the term I used. Now, I’m changing my tune.

Liars and spammers is who they are.

We’ll be adding a new story every single weekday, through July and August at least. (We’ve gotten a lot of great early press/blog coverage.) The writers are coming up with amazing stuff: Funny, sad, poignant, weird, perverse. And we have some interesting collaborations in the works that will take the story/object team-up in different directions still.

Not only are they liars, they stole the emblem of the Salvation Army!

I was kidding around before, but today I got some spam from them. And we all know how we love spam.

So I’m just getting the word out. Bidding aside, I hope you’ll check out some of the stories. (Though obviously I’d be thrilled if you chose to support these writers with a bid.) Leave a comment, tell a friend — or just enjoy some very imaginative new fiction, for free. We think it’s a cool way of thinking about objects and value.

Well guess what? Lying and spamming and stealing a charity logo is not “cool.”

Especially when they didn’t link back.

Do you resemble the any of the people in Twilight? (Except you would be older – because Twilight is about teenage vampire sex and angst. People who read this blog don’t have any of those.)

I’m not talking about blogging about Twilight, I’m talking about blogging in the Twilight.

I like it, and recommend Twilight computer use – outside. Did I forget to mention I meant blog outside in the Twilight?

Now that the evenings are in the mid 70′s, it’s the perfect time to drag your laptop outside and find a place in the shade with a nice breeze and give it a go.

I’m sitting in the NASCAR/Cigar Bar right now with Sedona laying a few feet away, nose and ears twitching to catch every scent and sound.

It’s not twilight as I write this, it’s about noon, so it’s closer to 85 degrees, but the breeze is wonderful.

I’m catching up with reading the Sunday Stealing Memes and dropping little turd comments all over the blogosphere.

Battery is at 38 minutes, which is great. It will force a shutdown soon. Twilight blogging/reading should not go on for hours.

Even in the shade I found there is one required purchase: a shade for your laptop. If you are handy you can make one… I bought this…

Before the shade, I spent a lot of time hunting for my cursor. I thought about downloading an app that would make a giant cursor, but that probably would also load me down with malware.

There still is a pretty bad reflection off the screen, but not so much that I can’t handle it in the shade. In the bright sun, I’m dead. Just like the Vampires of Twilight.

The Junk Drawer Blog is goofing off somewhere this week, but she left an assignment for her commenters. She stole a comment game from Comedy Plus.

The Junk Drawer Blog is fun, but whoooo boy, her commenters are just so vanilla, so white bread, so unimaginative.

Here’s how SHE explained the Comment Game.

It’s very simple. I start the game off by listing two words or phrases, like waffles or pancakes, and you pick the one you like better. You can explain why if you like.

She started with Twitter or Facebook. Nice start, but OMG, her commenters responded with choices like:

• Mac or PC
• Coffee or Tea
• Boxers or Briefs
• Peanut Butter or Jelly

I. am. NOT. kidding. And it goes on for over 100 comments.

I played too, here were my choice:

• Po or Laa Laa – which the next person said they didn’t have a clue about. Dur, Hello Google? So I came back with…
• Clarabelle or Crusty – which the next poster didn’t know, but chose Clarabelle because it was a nice name! OMG, puh-leeze! My final entry, before I decided to hijack this idea was…
• Simon Cowell or Simon & Shuster. The next commenter chose Simon Cowell because she hadn’t heard of “the other one.”

LISTEN UP. Here’s the deal. I am taking over this idea.
