I ran across this blog with a Buster Brown shoe commercial and I brought back the memory of going to the Buster Brown shoe store and putting my feet in an Xray where the shoe salesman (always a man) and Mother and I could look to see how the shoes fit.

Of course what we weren’t told until much later was that this wasn’t very smart, it was downright dangerous.  But it sure was cool.
