Revealed! McDonald’s Stole Idea from Superman!
UPDATE: Sorry, when I move from WordPress.com to self-hosted, some images didn’t make the trip. This one was an old Action Comics/Superman comic cover that looked remarkably like a McDonalds Golden Arches. Superman was chowing down on burgers. If you have a clue where I found it, let me know and I’ll add it back to the post.
Is this where Ray Kroc got the idea to sell hamburgers by the billions?
Did Ray Kroc steal the concept of window service from Action Comics?
Were the Golden Arches cribbed from this comic book cover?
Is this the first ever product placement?
Will this be the largest trademark infringement case ever?
Inquiring minds want to know.
The rest of us want a Cheeseburger Happy Meal. (with a boy toy)
1975. That’s when that issue came out. McDonald’s has been around since 1940 and has been a major nationwide fast food chain since the early Fifties.
That’s interesting about the comic date. McDonald’s had nine restaurants in 1955 – hardly a major nationwide chain.
