My colleague at Shotgun Marketing, Chris, has the answer to why teenagers may suddenly act strangely when a KFC commercial plays.

KFC has gone the way of the ad gimmick like GE’s Tivo commericals. They’ve inserted a high pitched sound in a spot that supposedly only young ears can hear.

Now, I gotta take his word that there is a high pitched sound playing during the commercial. First, I’m not a teenager- duh, second I have a hearing loss, and third I have tinnitus so I hear high pitched sounds all the time that nobody elses hears.

Since I wear hearing aids, I thought maybe my digital ears would pick up the sound. They didn’t.

But you can bet I’ll be watching the reaction of my four dogs when the KFC commercial comes on.
