Former President Bill Clinton has written a crossword for the New York Times about boomers.

People generally peg Mr. Clinton as a smart guy, but what gives him the right to create a Times crossword? For one thing, he is enough of a crossword wonk to have popped up — doing the puzzle in ink — in last year’s “Wordplay” documentary, which follows Times Puzzle Editor Will Shortz and his many fans.

BTW: Wordplay is an excellent movie. You don’t have to be a crossword puzzle nut to thoroughly enjoy it. Jon Stewart’s bit is hilarious.

Clinton’s crossword won’t make the print edition however.

I’ve never attempted a NYT Crossword, and never will. Who needs the humiliation?
