One Bed Partner Pukes, the Other Didn’t. Part Two.
My wife left the bed too last night. (see previous post) This happens fairly regularly. But it’s still a surprise to me to wake up in the king size bed all alone.
She went to the guest bedroom, not because of me or the barfing dog, but because she sleeps for a couple hours, then wakes up and can’t get back to sleep without talk radio playing. Not just any talk radio, but WBBM-AM in Chicago.
Everyplace we have lived we have been able to get WBBM-AM around 10 p.m. You know the deal with AM radio – you can be in Jabuti and sometimes get an AM signal. (really spelled Djibouti – I had to look it up. The capital of Djibouti is Djibouti.)
Unfortunately in this house, the only place we can get a good signal is in our guest bedroom. No luck in the master bedroom. I’ve tried booster antennas, even run a wire 50 feet attached to the AM antenna.
She says that when she goes to the other bed, she can hit the snooze button and fall back to sleep almost immediately.
Turns out, we are not alone in this sleeping arrangement. A lot of couples have this arrangement. We know of other boomer couples that admit this too because of snoring and hot flashes.
Instead of hot flashes, she’s getting news flashes. I’m in the dark with a nice breeze blowing up my nose.
