Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it’s television, but I gotta think that boomer women aren’t really going to care for the new Holly Hunter TV series Saving Grace.
TNT will launch the show this fall. Maybe their target demographic is men 18-49. Men 18-30 may be attracted to the cougar aspect, and men 30-49 are close enough to her age to be “respectable.”
She plays a cussin’, drinkin’, screwin’ cop in Oklahoma City, the crime and sex capitol of flyerover country. I know Oklahomans and Oklahos can cuss because I read Redneck Diva. I kinda doubt they have any boomer age women detectives like Hunter’s character Grace Hanadaro.
The opening scene to this decidedly provocative drama features Detective Grace Hanadarko (Holly Hunter), nearly au naturel, in the throes of passion with her work partner. Thinking of his family, he starts to worry about their affair. Not Grace, who barks, “I’m not the one who’s married!”
I don’t watch many cable shows except sports and movies. I may have to start paying attention or buy a Tivo.
