Robin Meade Made Me Oversleep
Dear Robin,I’m writing because you made me late to work today.
I haven’t been late since I started this job 14 years ago.
This was the first time an important meeting was scheduled for 8 a.m. CST. I didn’t miss it, but I was late.
Here’s why:
When my wife and I start to stir in the morning, I’ll flip on Headline News to catch up with the overnight news. That’s normally around 6:45 CST, I need to leave the house around 7:45.
Remember, neither one of us is fully awake, we’re just in that semi-coma state.
When you said it was 47 minutes after the hour, I knew from my past sleeping history that that it was probably 6:47 CST. I don’t use an alarm, and the clock fell down behind the nightstand and I just haven’t bothered to get it.
I fell back asleep only to wake up to hear you say, it’s 47 minutes after the hour again.
Yikes!
Can you please give us the hour along with the minutes? I don’t care if you say 7:47 Eastern, I’m usually enough awake to make the conversion.
We enjoy waking with you every weekday morning.
