Did your folks drag you around the park to look at all the pretty flora and fauna? Remember the girls with the hoops skirts and no skin showing? Blah.

The ski show was cool – for the time – before extreme sports. Wow, boats going off ski jumps. Sometimes two at a time, sometimes they even criss-crossed. What daredevils.

So, now Kent Buescher has been forced to put both parks up for auction to pay off his debts. I really feel sorry for the man and his family. This should have been their crowning glory but mother nature and the insurance companies took that away.

So for anyone who has $17.4 or more to buy a profitable local amusement park here are a few things you can do right away that will help bring the locals into your park.

The Disney Blog even has a business plan for you to make it successful. However, it doesn’t include moving it to Destin. Maybe Lake Havasu will buy it to appeal to retiring Boomers.

If they can arrange for a boat with passengers to jump the London Bridge that would be cool.

When I was a kid, we would wet the grass and ski behind a car zooming down the driveway.  Certainly they have a golf course there and make it possible to dry land ski – with jumps! That’s extreme: miss and you dig your own resting place – with your nose.
