Hearing Aid Feedback May Indicate I’ve Reached Infrared Absorbtion Limit
There is a side effect to being an old fart in a high tech house. Hearing aid feedback. I’ve never experienced it in any other setting. It’s only the right ear, and the feedback is like a echoing tone.
Heh.
There is so much infrared being emitted from the house, when we get home, we will probably fire up every TV in our house.
That’s not all bad. I’m just sorry it won’t last. Helluva benefit!
Yep, been there and done that. My new in-the-canal models do not echo and squeal nearly as much as my old ones did. Ahhh… the pleasures of old phartdom…
@Winston: Hi, I have digital – something digital that SIL doesn’t have, should have mentioned that!
Two things– check to see if your hearing aid is set to an “MT” switch, if so, move it over to “M.”
Second–you can always turn off your hearing aid. 🙂
Deaf Mom: No settings. Can’t turn off, so I took it out!
What does your audiologist say about this? I do know that if I get too close to a tv or microwave, I pick up a humming sound. For me, the remedy is to switch off my t-coil.
Hi, I haven’t asked because this is the first time it happened and has’nt happened since I got home. I really do thing it had to do with all the signals flying through the ozone!
