Luke Russert Will Work for Uncle Tom at NBC News
Well, my dad worked here a long time, and he’s dead, and everybody said they liked him. So, yes, I guess I am qualified to report for NBC News at the convention…
Luke Russert will be working the conventions for NBC News, not MSNBC, or NBC.com, or MSNBC.com. He has landed on the Mother Ship. And the Supreme Commander emeritus Tom Brokaw said this
“Luke, in a way, has been preparing for this moment all his life,” Brokaw said. “He grew up in the loving care of two world-class journalists.”
Luke’s experience in broadcast is MIA. He talked sports with James Carville on XM radio. Gawker.com got it right. Luke will be covering “youth” issues, which is short for “bullshit.”
Your kid just graduated from college with a degree in broadcasting, freelanced their ass off to get experience, interned their ass of to make connections, and boink! the job goes to a kid who’s dad was a Sunday Morning Starlet.
Real world. Welcome to it Kiddoes.
This pisses me off no end. When NBC discovers that there’s no magic about the last name “Russert” and that audiences won’t care about this kid, he’ll get kicked upstairs to some off-camera job.
Brians last blog post..Blame Canada!
@Brian: the sad part is, the public WILL like the kid because they liked his dad. Since it’s for the convention only, NBC’s commitment is probably pretty limited.
I expect him to get his own show on MSNBC within three months after the convention.
