If you’re not a Tweeter, a hashtag is the # symbol. Added in front of a word or phrase without spaces makes the word/phrase searchable and all tweets that contain the same hashtag are viewable.
For example, a recent hashtag game I played was
#JuryDutyRedFlag… one of my tweets
Bring your football D-Fence sign. #JuryDutyRedFlag
